Groups’ parade and opening ceremony

Information to group leaders

The meeting of the group leaders will take place at the Municipality Theatre of Argostoli ‘’Kefalos’’ on the 27 June 2024 at 20:00, where all the group leaders will get all the information concerning the events of the Festival by the President and members of the O.C.

All group leaders will receive their folder of the Festival with all information and participant cards, as well as welcome gifts (local products).

Parade and opening ceremony

The parade of the athletic groups starts at 21:00, with a lot of joy, music, dance and smiles at the historic “Kabana” square.

The athletic groups walk along Lithostroto, the central pedestrian road of Argostoli and they end up at the Central Square of the town, where the opening ceremony takes place.

The opening ceremony starts at 21:30 and lasts for about 1 hour offering an amazing spectacle and a sample of what is going to happen the following days.

Event at Lixouri

The first presentation of the athletic groups takes place at the picturesque town of Lixouri.

Lixouri is the second biggest town in Kefalonia renowned for its cultural events and beautiful beaches. The town is accessible both by ferry boats and by car.

The boat trip from Argostoli is unique and it takes 20min. It is considered the point of reference of the event since the children sing nonstop during it! A 50% discount to the coastal tickets is offered to all who have the participant card (according to the current prices, come and go costs 3,00€ including the discount).

The event takes place at the Central Square of Lixouri. It starts at 20:00 and finishes at about 22:00. Due to lack of appropriate space, programs who need special equipment such as with trampoline can not perform there.

At the end of the event all the teams return to Argostoli with the ferry boat.

The main event at Argostoli

The main event of Kefalonia Gym Festival “Anna Pollatou” takes place at the Close Gymnasium of Argostoli “Antonis Tritsis” next to the sea lake of Koutavos. The event starts at 18:30 with the participants of all the athletic groups.

The show is always spectacular and the gym is always packed!

In the performance area there is one mattress.

At the end of the presentation of all the athletics groups, all participants, trainers and all who are involved with the Festival gather at the presentation area of the stadium and dance the flash mob of the Festival. There the Organizing Committee will award prizes to all the groups as well as diplomas to all the participants. Special prize will be awarded to the group with the largest number of participants.

The event will close with the group photo shoots!
